Congratulations to our A/AS Level Students

°¬˛ćAƬ Council would like to congratulate all A/AS-Level students on their achievements today.

Post-16 Education in °¬˛ćAƬ is delivered at the °¬˛ćAƬ Learning Zone, a campus of Coleg Gwent. Due to the ongoing Covid-19 Pandemic there were no end of year examinations and grades were awarded through an approach developed through the WJEC in conjunction with Qualifications Wales. The Welsh Minister for Education yesterday gave an update in relation to this, and also plans to revise the appeals process.

Whilst a small number of students were invited in to campus in Ebbw Vale to collect their results, the majority picked up their results remotely.

Councillor Joanne Collins, °¬˛ćAƬ Council’s Executive Member for Education, congratulated students on behalf of the local authority. She said:

“It’s been a very tough year for learners and today’s results are testament to the continued hard work and commitment of staff across the education sector in °¬˛ćAƬ - particularly staff at the °¬˛ćAƬ Learning Zone; our students and their families and everyone else that has supported them along the way.

Congratulations on your results today, enjoy and celebrate your achievements but please remember to all keep safe. If you have any issues with the grades you received please remember that help and support is available.

“We wish you all the very best for the future on your chosen career paths.”
