If water is entering your property or there is a risk to life, call the emergency services on 999.

If water is entering your property  or you have been flooded and need to speak to someone for more advice please contact the Civil Contingencies Team on:

Flooding from highways

Flooding caused by overflowing drains or gullies within the highway network managed by °¬˛ćAƬ County Borough Council should be reported to the Highways Department on the contact details below:

Flooding caused by overflowing drains or gullies on Trunk Roads (A465) should be reported to the South Wales Transport Agency

Flooding from rivers

'Main rivers'

Natural Resources Wales is responsible for managing flooding from larger rivers, called 'main rivers'. Within °¬˛ćAƬ these are: 

  • Sirhowy River
  • Ebbw River
  • Ebbw Fach River

Flooding from 'main rivers' should be reported to  or telephone the incident hotline.

Incident hotline on 0800 80 70 60 (24-hour).

To listen to recorded flood warning information for your area or to speak to someone for advice, call 0345 988 1188 (24-hour).

Other rivers

Smaller watercourses, not classified as 'main rivers' fall under the responsibility of °¬˛ćAƬ County Borough Council. Please contact us at 01495 311556.

Flooding from a public sewer, a burst water main or water service pipe

Flooding from these sources should be reported to:

Flooding from all other sources

°¬˛ćAƬ County Borough Council is responsible for managing the risk arising from flooding from surface water, groundwater and ordinary watercourses (smaller watercourses and ditches).

If you are experiencing flooding from surface water (run off or ponding), groundwater or any small watercourses or ditches (ordinary watercourses) please use the e-form on this page alternatively contact us at 01495 311556.

Improving our knowledge and understanding of historic flooding events across the borough will help us to focus our resources and funding towards those areas most susceptible to flooding.

We are working to set up a webpage to allow you to upload information you have in relation to current and historical flooding incidents.
